Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has publicly challenged President Bola Tinubu to address the scandalous withdrawal of troops from a Kebbi State school just 45 minutes before a devastating terrorist attack and abduction.
Abaribe raised the issue during Wednesday’s Senate plenary, citing Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris’s prior allegation that a military commander ordered the soldiers out around 3:00 a.m.
The Senator forcefully condemned the ongoing silence surrounding the incident, stating that the lack of public inquiry reflects a critical breakdown in Nigeria's security command structure and accountability.
“The governor of Kebbi said that somebody ordered the troops out, and people were kidnapped. Till today, nobody in Nigeria knows what happened. No questions have been asked, and we are sitting down as parliament, talking and talking, yet somebody is responsible,” he stated.
Abaribe insisted that the military officer responsible for the troop withdrawal must be immediately identified and prosecuted to demonstrate President Tinubu's commitment to securing the nation and enforcing command-level accountability.
