China has issued a sharp diplomatic warning to the United States following President Donald Trump’s threat of military intervention in Nigeria over alleged persecution of Christians.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning confirmed Beijing’s support for the Bola Tinubu administration and condemned the US position in the strongest terms.
"As Nigeria’s comprehensive strategic partner, China firmly opposes any country using religion and human rights as an excuse to interfere in other countries’ internal affairs, and threatening other countries with sanctions and force."
