Barrister Ihekwoaba Chuks has come forward with a detailed statement in response to the claims made by Ayozie Delight Ihechikara's family regarding Isaac Chijindu Victor (Prestige). Here are his remarks addressing the allegations:
"Day before yesterday, they claimed he is a scammer, no evidence, that one failed, yesterday, they claimed there was no food and enough meat at the traditional wedding, a traditional wedding we attended on heavy convoy, everyone ate and drank to their satisfaction, that lie failed too, today they said he is owing alot of people and his creditors were threatening the girl, can we see the screenshot of the threats to the girl? the number of the person threatening the girl? All lies! Just to tarnish his image.
Victor was fully into Visa and Travel Agency Business. When countries of choice like USA, UK, CANADA and European Countries tightened their emigration policies and so many of his Clients could not meet up with the strict requirements, I advised him to stop accepting travel jobs, he accepted and stopped. I told him to diversify and to change business for now and settle people that are entitled to refund. He listened to me and did just that.
Some of his clients called me and complained to me that they are entitled to refund, I listened to them and found out that some of them did not even honour invitation and appointment letters he gave to them to go for their interview at different embassies and I told them that, they caused some of the problems. He refunded some people that were entitled to refund even against their agreement of no refund on payment of deposit and failure to go for submission and capturing at the embassy.

I advised him to pause accepting travel jobs, which he did. I told him to diversify and switch businesses temporarily while settling those entitled to refunds. He listened and complied.

Upon listening to them, I discovered that some didn’t honor their appointment letters for interviews at different embassies, which contributed to their issues. Victor refunded some clients he was entitled to withhold payment from, even against their agreement.
Later, he shifted to real estate in Abuja, as the travel policies had become burdensome. So, where did this 'yahoo' (scam) accusation come from? Liars!
Last year, a guy in the UK gave him money to secure a CSO for an intending traveler. While with me in my car during the business call, Victor handed the money and documents over to another agent, due to his commitments with other clients he normally saw to the airport. That agent, however, ran off with the money after failing to deliver.
The UK client understandably became furious, and despite Victor’s offer to refund him, he met with police authorities instead. This resulted in a court order for Victor’s arrest. I instructed the family to bring him in for questioning in Port Harcourt, where I fought tirelessly to clear him of these unfounded allegations.
After explaining the situation to the Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, it was made clear that this was a misunderstanding regarding a failed business contract, not criminal behavior. The original complainant mysteriously disappeared once the police became involved, leading to Victor being released with appropriate bail.
Upon his release, Victor returned to Abuja to focus on his business and wedding preparations. He planned to revisit the issue of unresolved refunds post-wedding, and we agreed to settle everything amicably.
Despite the challenges, Victor adapted his business strategies and began utilizing his wife and family accounts for transactions as a workaround for obstacles faced due to his prior troubles. The original complainant even reached out yesterday, apologizing and expressing a desire to resolve matters amicably.
It’s worth noting that Delight, Victor's wife, was never forced to stay at the police station with me during this ordeal; it was merely a choice she made for her safety amidst a lengthy process. Likewise, I found myself spending the night in my car outside the police station, a unique situation for me as a lawyer because I would not leave Victor stranded.
Victor is a good person, and Delight is also a decent individual, but unfortunately, her family has exerted undue influence in this matter. I strongly advise her family to cease spreading lies against Victor. If Victor cannot defend himself during this trying time, I, along with other solid men in his circle, will stand for him. We do not tolerate injustice against our own.
He’s made mistakes, learned lessons, and moved on. Let him be!” he concluded!
