During his recent working visit to the United Kingdom, Nigeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, praised Moniepoint as a shining example of the country’s burgeoning tech landscape. He took time to tour Moniepoint’s UK offices, where he highlighted the company as a “true Nigerian success story” and a “fintech unicorn” valued in the billions.
"With banks and fintechs emerging across Africa, Nigeria is poised to lead the fintech and financial services sectors,” the minister stated. He underscored the need to bolster confidence in Nigerian businesses as they expand onto the global stage, citing Moniepoint as a benchmark of success in the fintech ecosystem.
Minister Tuggar acknowledged the robust support Moniepoint has garnered from global investors, including the Africa Investment Fund by Google, Visa, and the British International Investment (BII). He emphasized that a flourishing fintech sector contributes to job creation, financial inclusion, and economic stability for Nigeria.
