Site Engineer murdered by Employees in Delta state

In a shocking turn of events, a site engineer named Chigozie Udalor lost his life in Delta State under tragic circumstances. The incident has sent ripples through the engineering community, underscoring the importance of safety and vigilance in the workplace.

According to reports, Chigozie was reported missing by his cousin, Hyacinth Nnalue, after he hadn’t been seen since December 10, 2024. Hyacinth, who manages a fish pond in the Akwukwu Igbo community, expressed his deep concern and initiated a police report at the Akwukwu Igbo division.

Following the report, the Delta State Police launched an investigation led by the DPO, who appointed a team from the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The case took a critical turn when, on March 31, 2025, investigators arrested David Tacho, who attempted to access the victim’s funds through a mobile transaction. They also apprehended Daniel Orshio, one of the suspects involved in the murder.

The police investigation revealed that Chigozie’s tragic end was the result of a conspiracy among his employees. David Tacho is related to Victor Tacho, who, alongside Pius Daniel (both currently at large), collaborated to attack Chigozie, ultimately leading to his murder. Details indicate that after discovering Chigozie's significant balance in his Moniepoint account, they plotted against him, using a hammer to inflict fatal injuries before burying him in a shallow grave at the construction site.

As authorities work to bring justice for Chigozie Udalor, the engineering community is left to reflect on the essential lesson: always prioritize safety and be aware of the vulnerabilities one might face in professional settings. Whether on-site or in the office, it is crucial for engineers and all workers to remain vigilant about their surroundings and the individuals they trust.

In the wake of this tragedy, let us remember the importance of maintaining a safe and secure work environment. Stay cautious, be observant, and foster a culture of trust and integrity within your teams. Our lives depend on it.
