Shocking Arrest: Teacher Accused of Molesting 7-Year-Old Pupil in Osun State

In a deeply troubling incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, the Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a 22-year-old teacher, Rufai Akorede, for the alleged molestation of a seven-year-old female pupil in Ilesa. The allegations are particularly distressing, as it is claimed that Akorede engaged in vile acts with the young girl after school hours.

According to a statement released by Kehinde Adeleke, the Command Public Relations Officer, the NSCDC took immediate action upon receiving the report. The State Commandant, Igbalawole Sotiyo, ordered a thorough investigation into the incident to ensure that justice is served.

The investigation revealed that Akorede is accused of repeatedly molesting the girl, with instances dating back to 2024. Most alarmingly, one incident involved him urging the victim to close the classroom windows before allegedly forcing her to perform oral sex. Another occurrence was reported on March 20, 2025, during which it is said he inappropriately touched her.

During a court hearing on March 26, 2025, Akorede faced a single charge and pleaded not guilty. He has since been remanded at the correctional facility in Ilesa, with the case adjourned for further trial.

The Osun NSCDC boss has issued a stern warning to individuals involved in such reprehensible acts, emphasizing that those who continue to engage in such behavior will face severe consequences. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing need to protect the most vulnerable members of society, our children and to hold offenders accountable to the full extent of the law.
