The Tom Ikimi-led disciplinary committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has proposed the expulsion of the embattled national secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, from the party. In a letter dated March 10, 2025, and delivered to PDP Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum on March 12, the committee disclosed that Anyanwu failed to appear before them to address allegations submitted by the PDP Young Generation Caucus.

The caucus accused Anyanwu of engaging in anti-party activities, violating Article 58(1)(f) of the PDP Constitution. Furthermore, he was charged with conduct that could disrupt the peaceful and efficient functioning of the party, as stipulated in Article 58(1)(h) of the 2017 PDP Constitution. These accusations stemmed from incidents on January 29 and February 1, 2025, during which he reportedly invited security personnel and others to interfere with the party's normal operations at its headquarters.

‎Following the committee's recommendations, the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the PDP is set to make the final decision regarding the matter
