A serving corps member in Kwara State confirmed the recent development, describing the increase in allowance as "long overdue."
"This is something we've been anticipating for months. Finally, the government has started making payments, although it appears to be happening in batches. Some corps members have received theirs, while others are still waiting," he stated.
Another corps member in Abuja also verified the payment, noting that it was high time for the increase.
The rollout of payments follows recent assurances from the Minister of Youth that the federal government would address the backlog of the N77,000 allowance.
