Earlier today, the office of the First Lady received a warm visit from the wives of Commissioners in Imo State. The purpose of this courtesy visit was to appreciate the significant work underway in the state by the 3R Government, under the esteemed leadership of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator (Dr.) Hope Uzodimma CON, GSSRS.
Lady Onyinyechi Ibejiako, wife of the Commissioner for Industry, Mines, and Solid Minerals, Chief Ernest Ibejiako, spoke on behalf of the group. She praised the First Lady’s office for its unwavering support of government initiatives and highlighted various programs aimed at empowering women throughout the state. Mrs. Adaobi Emelumba, the wife of the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, also took the opportunity to congratulate the First Lady on her recent Honorary Doctorate from Hezekiah University, Umudi. She expressed her appreciation for the Goodhope Women’s Initiative (GHWI), which has been instrumental in positively transforming communities across Imo State.
In her remarks, the First Lady expressed gratitude for their visit and stressed the importance of collaboration in fostering meaningful progress and positive change in Imo State.
The meeting was also attended by several distinguished guests, including Mrs. Nnenna Emeka Okoronkwo, wife of the Commissioner for Transport; Mrs. Priscilla Onyeocha, wife of the Commissioner for Youth and Sports; Princess Chizoba Okafor, wife of the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs; and Hon. Justice Chinamerem Onuegbu, wife of the Commissioner for Lands, Survey, and Physical Planning.
This significant visit highlighted the collective commitment of these women to supporting initiatives that empower women and contribute to the development of Imo State.
