A devastating fire swept through Ifejika Street near Sokoto Road in Onitsha, Anambra State, on Friday, destroying goods worth billions of naira and leaving traders heartbroken as they witnessed their livelihoods go up in flames.

According to the Anambra State Fire Service, a distress call was received at approximately 6:20 am, prompting a swift response from fire personnel. Eyewitnesses, sharing their accounts on social media, reported that the flames also threatened nearby residential buildings and warehouses around the Onitsha Main Market, leading to widespread destruction of property and goods.
